Fernando Antunes

Fernando Antunes finished his PhD in 2000 and the aggregation in 2021 in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Currently he is an Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Coimbra. He teaches the subject of Applied Mechanics, focused on classical mechanics, having published the book “Mecânica Aplicada – Uma abordagem prática”, Lidel. In terms of research, he is a specialist in fatigue crack growth in metallic materials, and particularly in the numerical simulation based on non-linear crack tip parameters. He has been involved in different projects and published more than 120 papers in internal journals, being currently a h29 researcher according to Scopus.
